DESCRIPTION

A poster session or poster presentation is the presentation of research information by an individual or representatives of research teams at a congress or conference with an academic or professional focus. The work is usually peer reviewed.

TEAM SPECIFICATION

In Each Group there can be maximum 3 members/participants. They can even go for solo participation.

RULES

Guidelines for poster presentation:

    1. A1 Size Poster.

    1. Descriptive representation as well as graphical representations must be included.
    2. Follow the poster number and set up your poster at proper allotted place before the commencement of session.
    3. Avoid discussions and comparisons with others in presentation hall.
    4. Be sure to include the abstract title, author names, and the institution where the work was completed, in large letters centred at the top of the poster. Place your address, phone number and email address in the upper right-hand corner. Your contact and address information is not mandatory.
    5. No computers or extra aids will be used during a poster presentation.
    6. The presentation number assigned to the poster presentation should not be placed on your poster. The poster boards will be numbered for you.
    7. We suggest that you place a reproduction of the abstract in the upper left side of the poster, and use the headings "Introduction", "Methods", "Results" and "Conclusions" to identify your poster layout. Include an acknowledgment section, containing anyone who helped you conduct this project.
    8. Lay your poster sections in a logical order so that others can follow sequence. A good method is setting up your poster in a column format so that individuals interested can read your poster, 1st vertical, then top to bottom, and then left to right. The sequence can be changed as per comfort level.
    9. Keep your poster presentation to ~15 minutes per visitor/judge.
    10. Use a type size that can be read easily from a considerable distance (2-4 feet or more). Try using a type between 14 - 20 pt. The title should be larger than the rest of the text. Select a legible font.
    11. Posters should stimulate discussion, not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.
    12. Space your information proportionally: divide your poster either horizontally or vertically into three or four sections, and place your materials within those spaces. Like a layout of a magazine.
    13. Try not to stand directly in front of your poster, allow other to view the entire poster. Stand to the side.
    14. Hand carry your poster to the meeting, using tubular packaging or a portfolio case.
    15. Come prepared with any relevant handouts you may wish to share and business cards to hand out.
    16. When choosing a background, remember that neutral or gray colours will be easier on the eyes than a bright colour. In addition, colour photos look best when mounted on gray.
    17. Be sure to bring pushpins, thumbtacks or Velcro to mount your poster. They will not be provided to you at the venue.
    18. Other stationary stuffs will not be provided by institute.
